Westport, CT – Parks and Recreation Director, Jennifer Fava announced today that parking at the Old Mill parking lot will be restricted to residents of Old Mill and Compo Mill Cove until further notice. Ms. Fava stated, “Residents must display their Old Mill/Compo Mill Cove Resident Permits in their cars at all times. Westport News: Noise Complaint

At approximately 11:39pm on Friday March 13, 2020, officers responded to the apartments located at 7 Post Road West on a noise complaint. The complainant reported loud noises coming from the neighboring apartment consistent with banging on the walls. Within the last week, officers responded to the same location on three other occasions for a complaint of loud music or other excessive noise coming from the same apartment. On two of these occasions the resident of that unit, identified as Tyler Bierman, had been verbally warned about the noise by the responding officers. On the third occasion, which occurred earlier this same evening (approximately 9:44pm on Friday March 13, 2020), Bierman was issued an infraction for creating a public disturbance.…

#Westport CT-- On the morning of December 16, 2019, Robert Mebane was involved in an incident that occurred at Honda of Westport; 1372 Post Road East. At that time, Mebane was suspected of attempting to steal wheels and tires from vehicles parked in the lot of the closed business. He was arrested for multiple charges. As a continuation of that initial investigation, a search warrant was sought and granted for a vehicle found near the scene believed to belong to Mebane. During the course of the execution of that search warrant, detectives located two Connecticut registration marker plates that had previously been reported to police as stolen. Fava announced that online spring and summer program registration will begin Wednesday, March 18, at 9 a.m. Walk-in, fax and mailed registration, and continuing online registration, will begin on Monday, March 23 at the Parks and Recreation Sales Office at Longshore Club Park (260 Compo Road South) during regular business hours (M-F, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm). WESTPORT, Conn. – Human Services Director Elaine Daignault announced today that the Westport Youth Commission (WYC) is seeking students currently in grades 8-11 as well as adults who are interested in serving for the 2020-2021 school year. Ms. Daignault stated, “The Youth Commission serves as a public forum for youth issues and advocates for youth needs and concerns in the community. Its 30 members, 15 students, and 15 adults, are appointed by the First Selectman. Westport News: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

2020-03-08@1:14am--While on routine patrol at approximately, an officer observed a vehicle stopped hazardously; partially in the traveled portion of the roadway on the Sherwood Island Connector. Upon contact with the vehicle, the operator and sole occupant was found to be asleep. He was later identified as Carl Bryant. Seen in Bryant’s hand upon the officer’s initial approach was an item immediately recognizable to the officer as a bag of narcotics; suspected crack cocaine later found to weigh approximately two grams. Also observed on the adjacent front passenger seat was a glass pipe commonly used for smoking narcotic substances as well as additional narcotics; approximately twenty-four wax folds containing suspected heroin. Westport, CT - Department of Human Services Director Elaine Daignault announces the return of the American Job Center Southwest’s new and improved Career Coach at Westport Town Hall. On Thursday, March 12, the Coach will offer a beginner’s class in upgraded Microsoft PowerPoint 2016 from 10 a.m. – noon, followed by an intermediate class in PowerPoint 2016 from 1 – 3 p.m. The Career Coach is a “training center” tour bus equipped with ten wireless computer labs offering free computer classes to residents in the greater Norwalk area.
