Fairfield News: Narcan Training

FAIRFIELD, Connecticut (June 11, 2019) – Connecticut has been confronted with the opioid crisis which has led to an increase in opioid related deaths. Since January 2019, there have already been approximately 12 emergency room visits, of Fairfield residents, for a suspected opioid related drug overdoses. In an effort to combat this issue, the Fairfield Health Department along with Fairfield CARES, and The HUB: Behavioral Health Action Organization for Southwestern CT will be hosting a Narcan training on Tuesday, June 25 th , 2019 at the Fairfield Public Library from 9:30am - 10:30am in the Memorial Room. Westport News: 1st Quarter Taxes Due Even If You Didn’t Receive A Bill

Westport, CT - Tax Collector Harry Whiteley reminded residents today that first quarter real estate taxes, personal property taxes, motor vehicle taxes and sanitary sewer use and assessment charges are due July 1, 2019.  Taxpayers have until August 1, 2019 to pay taxes without penalty.  Accounts will be subject to an 18 percent (1.5 percent/month) penalty charge if paid late.  Minimum interest charge is $2.00. Failure to receive a bill does not abate the charges or interest. Stratford looks to acquire lighthouse

STRATFORD- Mayor Laura R. Hoydick announced Friday that the Town of Stratford has entered into a license agreement with the United States Coast Guard for the property at the Stratford Point Lighthouse. Under terms of the agreement, the Town of Stratford has use of the lighthouse property and associated buildings and structures, while the Coast Guard continues to operate and maintain the light.  The Town agrees to maintain and upkeep the property and buildings.  Payment from the Town for the agreement is a single dollar. Bridgeport News: Early Morning Monday Robbery

2019-06-10 @ 4:40AM--Police were called on a report of a robbery.  The victims reported that 3 males were approached by a female offering to go for drinks.  The female got into a vehicle with a male driver and the three males followed them to several locations.  The male driver got out of the vehicle and went to the victims car with a firearm drawn.  The male took the victims to the rear yard of a house on Soundview Avenue where he and the female took all of the victim's belongings at gunpoint.  The responsible assailants are reported to be a black male, short and slim.  The female is described to be a Hispanic female, short and stout.  The responsible parties…
