Wrong-Way Driver Causes Collision on RT 8 Northbound in Shelton, Leads to DUI Arrest
A wrong-way driver on Route 8 Northbound in Shelton caused a head-on collision early on August 28, 2024, leading to a DUI arrest. At around 1:25 AM, Troopers from Troop I in Bethany responded to reports of a vehicle traveling south in the northbound lanes near exit 12. Before Troopers could reach the scene, the wrong-way driver, identified as 39-year-old Andrea Lynn Marseglia of Orange, collided with another vehicle. The adult driver and juvenile passenger of the other vehicle were taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation of non-life-threatening injuries. A person jumped to their death from the Congress Street overpass onto the Route northbound lanes according to numerous unconfirmed reports. Police only confirmed that Bridgeport ECC received numerous calls regarding a MVA on route 8 vs. pedestrian. His bond was set at $75,000. The arrest stems from an incident on July 14, 2024, when Westport Police responded to a report of a stolen motor vehicle. An investigation, aided by surveillance cameras, revealed that around 3:50 AM, unknown individuals arrived in a gray BMW and stole a white 2019 Mercedes-Benz from an unlocked, open garage. Both vehicles then fled the scene. Through law enforcement collaboration and electronic surveillance, Keon Webster was identified as a suspect in the incident, leading to a warrant for his arrest.…
