Police are sorting a one car crash with injuries on Crane Street in Fairfield.
It is been reported that a local resident, Miguel Rojas, is on track to serve a 22-year prison sentence after entering a plea of no contest on Thursday. The charges stemmed from the stalking and subsequent fatal shooting of his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend on a downtown street. Rojas, 30, opted for a plea of no contest to first-degree manslaughter with a firearm before Superior Court Judge Tracy Lee Dayton, just as his case was set to go to trial. While not admitting guilt, Rojas acknowledged that he was no longer contesting the charges, leading the judge to find him guilty. Scheduled for sentencing on May 1, Rojas faces a potential 22-year prison term under the terms of the plea bargain.…

(Hartford, CT) – Following an investigation that uncovered nearly 400 deceptive real estate agreements in Connecticut through the company MV Realty, Attorney General William Tong today urged legislators to pass legislation banning the multi-year predatory listing deals and nullifying all existing unfair contracts. MV Realty is a Florida-based company with two licensed realtors in Connecticut. An investigation conducted by the Office of the Attorney General revealed that the company has targeted hundreds of lower-income homeowners in Connecticut, offering residential exclusive listing agreements, which MV calls “Homeowner Benefit Agreements.” Through these agreements, MV provides a small cash payment of a few hundred dollars in exchange for the exclusive right to list their homes for sale for a period of 40 years.…
On February 27, 2024, William Banks, a 27-year-old resident of Brooklyn, NY, was arrested by the Westport Police on charges of Larceny 6th. The arrest stemmed from a larceny investigation initiated by the Westport Police on December 30, 2023. The investigation was prompted by a complaint regarding the theft of Israel Flag yard signs in the Colony Road neighborhood. During the investigation, the officer in charge witnessed William Banks, who was driving a white vehicle, stealing another yard sign and fleeing the area while speaking with the complainant.
