Fairfield Man Damages Milford Motel
#Milford CT-- On August 20, 2023, law enforcement officers were dispatched to the Mayflower Motel located at 219 Woodmont Road in response to a reported incident of criminal mischief. Following a thorough investigation into the matter, it was ascertained that an individual identified as Raj Kumar, a 31-year-old male residing at 51 Marne Avenue in Fairfield, was responsible for causing damage to the property. Consequently, Kumar was taken into custody and subsequently charged with the offense of Criminal Mischief in the 2nd Degree. In light of the charges brought against him, Kumar's bond was set as a Promise to Appear (PTA), and he is scheduled to appear in court on September 19, 2023, to address the allegations. Bridgeport News: 3 Shot – 1 Critical
On August 22, 2023, at approximately 10:50 pm Bridgeport Police responded to multiple ShotSpotter activations and reports of numerous victims shot within the 1200 block of Park Avenue. ShotSpotter is a gunshot detection system. Once gunshots are fired in an area covered by this service, police receive a notification within one minute directing them to the location of the gunfire. Upon arriving in the area, Officers quickly located (2) victims suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim, identified as a 38-year-old Bridgeport woman, appeared to have been shot in the leg. Troopers Respond to Wrong-Way Driver on I-95 in Milford
#Milford CT--On Sunday, August 20, 2023, at approximately 10:29 p.m., Troop G in Bridgeport was advised of a vehicle traveling southbound in the northbound travel lanes on Interstate 95 in the area of Exit #39 in Milford. Responding Troopers observed a silver Subaru Forester displaying a Connecticut registration, traveling south in the northbound lanes and initiated a motor vehicle stop, safely bringing the vehicle to a stop in the area of Exit #37. Troop G was further advised that the Subaru had struck another vehicle prior to being stopped by troopers. No injuries were reported as a result of the collision. Not Your Average Nature Walk
On 08/18/2023 the Shelton Police Department arrested 28-year-old Matthew McGovernof Shelton. The arrest stems from an incident that occurred in the walking trails in thearea of Wesley Drive in Shelton. At approximately 4:30 PM a mother, with her 5-year-old son was walking in the trails and came upon a man with pants down and his penisexposed. The complainant reported that the man appeared to be masturbating. TheShelton Police were called and when they arrived, they observed the man with his pantsstill down. The man was identified as McGovern and was taken into custody.McGovern was charged with Public Indecency and Breach of Peace. He was released ona $500.00 bond and given a Derby Superior court date of 09/01/2023.
