A burnt-out coffee pot in a utility closet on the 4th floor at Seton Hall triggered a fire alarm at Sacred Heart University, located at 5151 Park Avenue in Fairfield. Firefighters responded and determined the alarm was caused by the overheated coffee pot. False alarms at the university are often triggered by items such as curling irons or burnt popcorn.
Crash reported on I-95 northbound near Exit 22 in Fairfield involving a tractor-trailer and two cars. No injuries or entrapment have been reported. 2026-03-04@10:38pm
On March 2, 2026, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Fairfield Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at News Express, located at 200 Tunxis Hill Road in Fairfield. The store was open at the time of the incident, and no injuries were reported. Police stated, “The investigation remains active, and we are unable to provide additional details at this time, as doing so could impact the integrity of the investigation.” The case remains under investigation.
