Career Coach Offers Upgraded 2016 Microsoft Excel Classes

Westport, CT - Director of the Human Services Elaine Daignault announces the return of the American Job Center Southwest’s new and improved Career Coach at Westport Town Hall.  On Thursday, August 8, the Coach will offer a beginner’s class in upgraded Microsoft Excel 2016 from 10 a.m. – noon, followed by an intermediate class in Excel 2016 from 1 – 3 p.m.  The Career Coach is a “training center” tour bus equipped with ten wireless computer labs offering free computer classes to residents in the greater Norwalk area.  The mobile unit operates on a monthly schedule of visits to various community locations and is accessible to people with disabilities. On Sunday March 17, 2019 at approximately 4:38pm officers responded to Home Goods, 1850 Post Road East, on a complaint of a stolen wallet. The victim reported that while shopping in the store she noticed that her wallet was missing from her purse. She reported that the missing wallet contained cash and numerous credit cards. The victim then began to receive notifications from her credit card companies that a large purchase had been made, and a second large purchase had been attempted, at two different local businesses. Westport News: Failure To Appear

#Westport CT---On the morning of Tuesday July 16, 2019 a bail enforcement agent responded to police headquarters with Daniel Cabrera-Otero in custody. Computer checks confirmed that Cabrera- Otero currently held two outstanding arrest warrants for failure to appear in court. He was turned over to the custody of this agency for processing. One warrant was stemming from an original arrest on felony charges by this agency on which Cabrera-Otero failed to appear as scheduled at Norwalk Superior Court. Bond for this offense was court set at $35,000.00. 07/16/2019--#Fairfield CT--On 07/16/2019 Officers responded to 233 Algonquin Road for a report of a residential burglar alarm. Officers arrived to find a basement door that was forced open. After contacting the homeowner, it was discovered that the home was burglarized and personal property was missing. While canvassing the neighborhood, a second residential alarm activated at 133 Algonquin Road, Officers discovered an additional burglary took place at this address and began to investigate further. During a neighborhood canvass, officers were able to obtain surveillance footage from a home security system, which identified a suspicious vehicle in the neighborhood at the time of the burglaries. Car Show – Sunday 7/21 !!

The Westport Police Benevolent Association Car Show is scheduled for SundayJuly 21, 2019. The event is to be held at the Westport Saugatuck Railroad Station from 10:00AM to 2:00PM. All years and all model vehicles are welcome. The entry fee is $20.00 per car. All proceeds benefit the Westport PBA Scholarship Fund, which is a non-profit 501(c)organization. Ten award winners will be announced. There will be a 50/50 raffle as well as many other prizes.
