Norwalk Murder Arrest

On December 28, 2023, Norwalk Police Special Services Division was contacted by Waterbury Police Detectives regarding a murder investigation. Waterbury Police held an active arrest warrant for Barry Mason. Special Services officers developed information that Mason could be in the greater Norwalk area and set up surveillance at a location Mason was known to frequent. At approximately 5:30 PM, Mason was observed walking on Lexington Avenue. Special Services officers took Mason into custody without incident. Mason was transported to Norwalk Police Headquarters and then turned over to the Waterbury Police Department. Bridgeport Police Make Firearms Arrest

The Bridgeport Police Department (BPD) took multiple firearms off the streets today and made an arrest for firearms violations during an operation within the 100 block of Highland Ave (Hollow Section). The Hollow is a centrally-located neighborhood that is within walking distance of downtown Bridgeport.  It is the most densely populated section of the city. Clay Anthony McRay 29, of Bridgeport CT, was found in possession of a Hi-Point, 9mm, semiautomatic pistol, along with a magazine containing eight live rounds of ammunition. Bridgeport News: Explosion Update

On Thursday at 1:54PM the Bridgeport Emergency Communications Center received multiple 911 calls reporting an explosion and major fire in the Bishop Ave/East Ave/ Cross St area.   Bridgeport Fire, Police and AMR were dispatched and the Bridgeport EOC activated to Level 2. BFD On-scene reports indicated a large active fire locate at 50-57 Cross Street at the Tradbe Facility and a third alarm was ordered. The BPD began evacuating a two-block radius and began alerting residents to shelter-in-place to avoid smoke exposure. AMR reporting three victims were injured one with burns and two with smoke inhalation. All transported to Bridgeport Hospital.
