GOVERNOR LAMONT BREAKS GROUND ON NEW TRAIN STATION IN NAUGATUCK AS PART OF MAJOR UPGRADES TO WATERBURY BRANCH LINE
(NAUGATUCK, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont and Connecticut Transportation Commissioner Garrett Eucalitto today announced that the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) has begun construction on a new train station in Naugatuck, advancing the Lamont administration’s plan to modernize the entire Waterbury Branch Line and spur downtown redevelopment. The new station is being relocated approximately 0.3 miles south of the existing station, placing it closer to Naugatuck’s downtown and aligning with the borough’s vision for a vibrant, transit-oriented development near Rubber Avenue and Old Firehouse Road. GOVERNOR LAMONT ANNOUNCES AGREEMENT TO SUPPORT COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTERS WITH TO BOOST MEDICAID REIMBURSEMENT RATES
(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont and Connecticut Department of Social Services Commissioner Andrea Barton Reeves today announced that the Lamont administration has reached an agreement with the 17 community health centers in Connecticut regarding a three-year plan to boost Medicaid reimbursement rates for the centers that service 440,000 people across the state each year. The agreement will phase in rate increases over three years totaling approximately $80 million by June 30, 2028. West Haven Man Arrested in Honda of Westport Tire Theft Case
Darrylle D. Rodriguez, 23, of West Haven, was arrested in connection with the October 2024 theft of tires and rims from three vehicles at Honda of Westport. The vehicles had been left on milk crates, with damages totaling over $15,000. After a multi-agency investigation and multiple search warrants, Westport Police identified Rodriguez as one of the suspects and took him into custody at Derby Superior Court while he was appearing for an unrelated matter. He was charged with larceny in the second degree and conspiracy to commit larceny in the second degree. Rodriguez posted a $75,000 bond and was turned over to Stamford Police, who also held a warrant for his arrest. He is scheduled to be arraigned at Stamford…
Hidden Trap Found in Vape Shop; Norwalk Man Arrested
2025-07-11@#Norwalk CT—Norwalk Police executed a search warrant at R & R Smoke Shop on Main Street as part of an investigation into unlicensed cannabis sales. Officers discovered a hidden electronic trap beneath the sales counter containing a large stash of marijuana products and THC edibles. The compartment held over 1 kilogram of marijuana products, including pre-rolls, THC vape cartridges, and edibles far exceeding Connecticut’s legal THC limits. Officers also recovered $1,169 in cash. The investigation revealed that the shop was operating without a state-issued cannabis license. Mohamed Mohamed Lebrahim, 28, was arrested at the scene. He was charged with possession of more than 1 kilogram of marijuana products, possession with intent to sell, and use of drug paraphernalia. His bond…

This morning Judge Murphy sentenced Jose Morales to 65 years in jail, 60 years for his conviction in the homicide of Christine Holloway and 5 years for tampering with evidence in the case.
