Fairfield Police arrested Daniel C. Suozzi, 43, on Thursday after detectives completed a month-long investigation into the reported sexual assault of a woman known to him. The arrest was made on an active warrant obtained by investigators. Suozzi was charged with Sexual Assault in the First Degree under Connecticut General Statutes 53a-70(a)(1). He was released on a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on November 25, 2025.
Norwalk Police arrested Mathew Clark Jr., 41, after officers on selective enforcement duty approached two individuals loitering outside a storefront on Woodward Avenue displaying “No Loitering Police Enforced” signs. During the interaction, officers discovered Clark was carrying a multi-colored Byrna HD firearm equipped with a loaded magazine of pepper-ball ammunition and a CO₂ cartridge. Clark, a convicted felon, was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters, where he refused to be fingerprinted. He was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a dangerous weapon, failure to comply with fingerprint requirements, and carrying a pistol without a permit. His bond was set at $200,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on December 3, 2025.
The Fairfield Police Department is issuing a public advisory ahead of SantaCon on Saturday, December 6, 2025. This advisory is intended to clarify what is occurring in Fairfield, set expectations, and outline the steps being taken to protect residents and maintain public safety. On November 20, 2025 at 3:46 PM, Norwalk Combined Dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting that a juvenile was struck by a vehicle on Seaview Avenue. Norwalk Police, the Norwalk Fire Department and Norwalk Hospital EMS were immediately dispatched. Patrol officers arrived in the area of 11 Seaview Avenue and located a six-year-old child on the sidewalk and adjacent grass area of the westbound lanes of Seaview Avenue. First responders began providing emergency medical care to the child, who suffered serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Norwalk Hospital. The Norwalk Police Crash Reconstruction Unit responded along with the Identification Unit to process the scene and assume the investigation. Norwalk Police have identified the pedestrian who was seriously injured after being struck on Connecticut Avenue around 5:50 p.m. Tuesday. Officials thanked all media partners who shared the image and the members of the public who called in with information—his identity was confirmed after a caller recognized him on a news platform. As previously reported, officers located the man with serious injuries in the westbound lanes, and he was transported to Norwalk Hospital. Preliminary findings show he was crossing outside a marked crosswalk when he was struck, and the driver remained on scene. Stratford Police arrested Joseph Benway III, 38, in connection with a January 2, 2025 residential burglary where entry was forced through a broken glass panel on a garage door and approximately $2,000 in currency was reported stolen. Benway, who had previously worked at the home as a contractor, turned himself in on November 12 after detectives developed him as a suspect through multiple search warrants. Benway was charged with Burglary 1st Degree, Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, and Larceny 3rd Degree. His court-set bond was $150,000, which he posted, and he is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on December 3.
Bridgeport Police arrested Evens Dorvelus, 46, on Friday night after a stabbing at Wood Park near Wood Avenue and Benham Avenue shortly before 9 p.m. Officers located Dorvelus minutes later walking on Laurel Avenue with a blood-covered knife in his possession, and he was taken into custody. The 37-year-old victim was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital, where he underwent surgery for a neck wound and is expected to survive. The motive remains unclear, though witnesses reported the victim may have been trying to diffuse a dispute between Dorvelus and another man. Dorvelus was charged with Assault in the First Degree and Breach of Peace in the Second Degree, and was held on $100,000 bond.
